BTS – Why Building a Bold Framework Will Change Lives

While students enjoy their summer break, our Program Team is hard at work crafting something extraordinary: the 2025–2026 RMFY curriculum.

This isn’t just planning—it’s purpose-driven innovation.

Our staff is diving deep into what students need most: stronger social-emotional connections, college and career readiness, leadership development, and a renewed push to graduate. Every lesson, activity, and group session is being designed with intention.

As we refine our curriculum, we’re guided not only by experience but by evidence. Research shows that Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is a game-changer for adolescent development:

  • Students who participate in SEL programs show an 11% increase in academic achievement compared to those who don’t (CASEL, 2023).
  • SEL has been linked to improved classroom behavior, better stress management, and stronger relationships with peers and adults.
  • Youth involved in structured group mentoring programs are 55% more likely to enroll in college and 78% more likely to volunteer regularly (MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership, 2024).

At RMFY, we combine SEL with the power of group mentoring to create a holistic support system. It’s not just about helping students succeed in school—it’s about helping them thrive in life.

“We’re not just teaching skills,” said Ms. Laura, RMFY Program Specialist. “We’re helping students see themselves as leaders, learners, and changemakers.”

This year’s curriculum will include:

  1. Graduation readiness workshops tailored to both middle and high school.
  2. Career exploration with real-world professionals and on-site connections in various career fields.
  3. College prep sessions with hands-on application support, financial aid focus, and soft skills needed to be successful while in school.
  4. Service learning opportunities that empower students to lead in their schools and communities.

And at the heart of it all? Deep, meaningful relationships between students and mentors.

We’re proud of the work happening behind the scenes—and we want you to be part of it. Visit rightmovesforyouth.org to learn more about our curriculum and how you can support our mission.

Together, we’re moving the needle forward for every student we serve.
